Hi Sandra!
Welcome to planDisney.
Yes!
MagicBand+ are still used at Walt Disney World - but they are not mandatory. I like them for the convenience of having everything available securely on my wrist, which makes my life easier. No rummaging around in my backpack to find my phone or my park tickets etc. and a bonus is that all MagicBand+ are waterproof so you can wear them while swimming or showering, and they are so useful for a day at the water parks!
If you choose not to use a MagicBand+, all that is required for you to enter a Walt Disney World theme park is a valid park admission ticket. This could be a physical card, a digital card that you have loaded onto your phone or mobile device or onto your My Disney Experience app, or a
Key to the World card that you can request if you are a Disney Resort hotel guest. These are free of charge - and perform in the same way as a MagicBand+, allowing room charging, park admission, and unlocking your hotel room door.
If you decide to purchase a MagicBand+ there are many stores that sell them, including Disney Resort hotels gift shops. I recommend the
World of Disney at Disney Springs, and the Emporium at Magic Kingdom Park or Creations Shop at EPCOT. If you are a resident in the US, with a Disney Resort hotel reservation, you can purchase your MagicBand+ at a discounted rate in advance of your visit, via your My Disney Experience app.
There is a good selection also available online at the
Disney Store - these can be ordered for delivery to your home in the US, or to your Disney Resort hotel if you prefer.
Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions, and you can
send me a direct question if you wish. We will be happy to help you plan your magical vacation.
Sue
