    My Magic Bands shipped already (we don’t go until February 2020) because we ordered the new designs. Will these still work seven months from now? Also, we are doing a day trip in October—will we be able to use the bands on this trip? Thanks so much!

    Hi, Natalie! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks so much for stopping by with your questions. I am so happy to see you were able to order one of the upgraded MagicBands! Offering these as an option for guests was such a magical idea in my opinion. I personally have my eye on one of the Dole Whip-themed MagicBands for our vacation next summer. How perfect will it be to lounge by the pool at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, wearing my Dole Whip adorned MagicBand while eating my favorite frozen concoction? I may just have to wear my Pineapple Swirl Ear Hat and Dress for that tropical occasion! Ha!

    I am happy to let you know that your MagicBand will be considered active as soon as you receive it. So, you can use it for your February trip, your upcoming day trip in October, and any other day that you may find yourself in the middle of the magic! The batteries within these handy little devices usually work for a few years. I have heard two years is the average, but I have had one last I know for three years. You should be able to get a good bit of pixie dust from that little magic maker.
