Heigh-Ho Amanda,
Welcome to planDisney. We are a group of Guests happily assisting Guests planning a Walt Disney World vacation who have curiouser and curiouser inquiries. Why? Because between all of us we have an endless amount of magical and memorable experiences visiting Walt Disney World and want to be sure your stay is Practically Perfect.
MagicBands are not exclusive to Annual Passholders. In fact, any Guest with a valid Walt Disney World ticket is able to use them. MagicBands come in a variety of colors and designs to fit your Disney persona or style. These pixie-dusted wrist bands are typically worn around the wrist and can be purchased through your Disney Resorts Collection hotel reservation link,
shopDisney, or in many shops around the Walt Disney World resort. If purchased through shopDisney or onsite stores, Guests will need to link them to specific Guests via their My Disney Experience before being able to use them.
MagicBands are linked to your specific ticket and are used to enter the Walt Disney Theme Parks by tapping them at the appropriate touchpoints. They also, allow Guests to gain access to queues such as
Star Wars: Rise of Resistance, sync
Disney PhotoPass photos from photographers and ride photos and just simply make life hands-free as you enjoy your day at Walt Disney World. Guests staying at the Disney Resorts Collection hotel can, also, use their MagicBand to unlock their Resort room and have charging privileges throughout their stay. A unique PIN, by you, will be assigned for purchases and required at the time of payment and all charges will show on your room bill.
As a side note, MagicBands are not the only means of gaining access to your tickets. A Key to the World Card is a hard ticket assigned to Guests and is free to Guests. Simply visit a Guest Relations/Ticket Counter located outside all Walt Disney World Theme Parks and a Cast Member can get you one. A final option and one that was introduced this year, on your
My Disney Experience mobile app, is the Disney MagicMobile service. Guests can create a digital mobile pass, for their Walt Disney World tickets, on their phones and just like the MagicBand scan it at the touch-point to gain entry. Check out all its extra features by
following this link.
I hope this information is helpful and am here to happily help every step of the way. Stay up to date with Disney News by following the
