Can we use our magic bands at Disneyland and California Adventure?

Hi, Carey! Welcome to planDisney! We all know "that it was all started by a mouse." I'm a huge fan of Mickey Mouse, and I love visiting him in both of his coastal residences- and it sounds like you do, too!

As a frequent Walt Disney World Resort visitor, I've amassed quite the MagicBand collection. They sure do help keep all your trip plans organized in a fun way, and there's no need to carry anything to the parks with you! Unfortunately, your Walt Disney World Resort MagicBands won't work at Disneyland Resort.

However, for the first time in forever, it was announced that MagicBands are finally arriving at Disneyland Resort in 2022, and I bet they'll be worth the wait! While there has not been an official date for when the next-generation MagicBand+ will debut, I've heard that they will "unlock unique moments of magic for Disneyland Resort Guests." These new MagicBands can be synced and programmed like a smartwatch with theme park and hotel activities. We've also been told that some of the features of MagicBand+ will vary between Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. Disneyland's version will feature Sleeping Beauty Castle. I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed that it will be available for your trip this summer! Keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog, as they always have the latest and greatest breaking news.

By the way, Carey, two of my favorite nighttime shows are returning to Disneyland Resort soon! Schedule some time to see World of Color and the Main Street Electrical Parade because they are fabulous and unique to the California parks. Remember, we're all ears if you have any more planning questions for the planDisney team!
