Our magic bands arrived and I was showing them to my son. His comment - I would rather carry a card. I hate wrist bands. Is it possible to get a card for him?

    Hi Jeannette,

No problem. Many guests think that MagicBands are a fun perk, but you're not required to use them.

If you son doesn't want to wear a MagicBand, Disney will be happy to provide him with a card that has the exact same functionality as the Band. When you check into your hotel, just let the cast member at the desk know that he'd like a card instead of a Band. They'll be able to print one for him in just a few seconds.

In case he ends up changing his mind, you should know that you can manage the status of all your Bands and cards using the My Disney Experience tab on the DisneyWorld.com website. Scroll down to the My Account section and click on "MagicBands" and cards. You can see all the Bands and cards that have been assigned to you. Any of them that have active status can be used interchangeably. If your son has both a Band and a card active, then he can use either one, or both, whenever he likes.

Please let us know if you have additional questions. We're happy to help!
