I have a magic band+ that I used on my trip to Disney World. I have an upcoming trip to Disneyland and want to use it there. How do I remove it from the My Disney Experience account so I can connect it to my Disneyland tickets?

A Great, Big, Beautiful Welcome to planDisney, Hailey! I am so happy you're here and it'll be my pleasure to help out with this question.

How fun that you've been able to experience the magic of Disney Parks on BOTH coasts, recently! Isn't it great that the MagicBand+ is now functional in both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort? My family has successfully used them in both destinations, so I'll be happy to share how we've done so.

First, I always like to suggest that Guests start with a fully charged MagicBand+ and the most updated version of the official Disneyland mobile app on your smart device. Then, you'll follow the standard MagicBand+ setup instructions to link your MagicBand+ to your admission ticket or pass for Disneyland Resort in the app. I confirmed with a Cast Member today that it is possible to link your MagicBand+ in the Disneyland mobile app for use at Disneyland Resort, even if it was previously used at Walt Disney World Resort. No need to unlink or deactivate it first! However, if it's still causing you as much trouble as Stitch, I have some other ideas.

    1. Like most other tech problems, sometimes it just takes a quick power-off or restart of your MagicBand+ to sort out the issue! Alternatively, you could consider a full factory reset for your band.
    2. If you notice that your MagicBand+ was linked to the wrong guest account, you may need to unlink it from the original account before proceeding with linking it to yours. My friend and fellow panelist, Tony S. has some great tips on how to do this in the official Disneyland mobile app.
    3. If you need further tech support related to the use of your MagicBand+, I suggest consulting the Cast Member chat in the Disneyland Resort app. Just tap the '☰' feature on the app's home screen and scroll down to "Chat with Us." You can also feel welcome to call Disneyland Resort Guest Services to speak with a Cast Member by phone.
Hailey, I hope this is a helpful start. I've been loving the MagicBand+ interactive features inside Disneyland Resort, from the Disney100 Medallions to Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters and even surprise haptics and light-up functions while you are on or near select attractions. It's such a fun way to take your next visit to the next level and I hope you enjoy it to the fullest! If we can help with anything else in the meanwhile, please feel welcome to reach out to planDisney again. We'd love to lend a hand!

    Magically yours,
    Tishra
