Donna,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
Yes,
MagicBand+ bands can be recharged. In fact, most are sold with a charging cord. How long the charge will last is, of course, dependent upon how much you use the MagicBand+ when you are in the park. But in my recent trip I did not run out of charge on any of the days.
As you likely know, these new generation bands are very new, so we are still finding out more about how they really perform in actual use. I have had friends who are very active users, enjoying such MagicBand+ centric adventures, like the
Batuu Bounty Hunters quest, that have reported running out of a charge late in the evening. As more adventures are added, this could become more prevalent. When I visit the parks with a long day planned, I already had been bringing a reserve battery along just in case for my iPhone. I know I am ready to go with a quick boost to the band, if necessary.
BONUS TIP #1The MagicBand+ charging cable uses a USB-A plug. Most Disney Resort Hotels have appropriate outlets for these chargers, but it is worth checking if you have a way to plug it in at night.
BONUS TIP #2The new MagicBand+ bands are AMAZING! While I was a big fan of so many of the features offered by the last version of the MagicBand, these new bands are really adding even more great experiences. You don't lose any of those existing capabilities, like
Mobile Online Ordering, and you get all the new interactivity in the parks. I strongly recommend that prior to your visit you check on the MagicBand+ section on your
My Disney Experience App on your smartphone. It spells out how to get everything synchronized, how to manage multiple bands, how to customize your band, and some of the fun things you will be able to do with the bands while in the parks.
