Hi Danielle, and thanks for visiting us at planDisney! Can you believe that there’s just one more sleep until you’re passing under the famous Disney World welcome arch?! So let’s make sure you have all the information needed to make those magical purchases.
I double checked with a Cast Member, and guests can only use their
MagicBands for purchases if they’re staying at a
Disney resort hotel. However, I completely understand how convenient it is to avoid rummaging through your bag for a wallet, so I have a couple of alternative ideas.
First, is to buy an
electronic Disney gift card from the
Disney Store website and add it to your phone’s mobile wallet. When you receive an email with the gift card details, scroll down and look for the “Add to Apple Wallet” and “Add to Google Wallet” buttons. Once that’s set up, it’s really fast to pull up the gift card on your phone for Cast Members to scan.
Just keep in mind that the gift card image in your mobile wallet shows the initial balance, even if you add more funds or start using the card. You can always check the current balance on the
Disney Gift Card website (using the account number and EAN) or after you make your first purchase. The remaining balance will appear on your receipt.
Another idea is to buy one of the gift cards attached to a stretchy wristlet that they sell at some of the EPCOT festivals. They usually have a few fun designs, and your payment method will be right on your wrist, just like a MagicBand! If you go this route, I’d recommend registering your gift card on the Disney Gift Card website. This will allow you to transfer the balance to another gift card if you lose it.
Speaking of EPCOT festivals, you’re going to be here for the most beautiful one—the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival! The park will be covered in colorful plants, and I just love to try all of the delicious
Outdoor Kitchens while looking for the different
