Hi, can you use your magic band to pay at the food carts in the park?

Hi Alissa and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks so much for stopping by with your question about making purchases with your MagicBand!

The MagicBand is my favorite accessory when I’m visiting the Walt Disney World Resort. It holds my theme park ticket information, dining reservations and can even open my Disney Resort hotel room when I’m staying on-site! Guests staying at Disney Resort hotels can absolutely make charges at food carts using their MagicBand. It’s possible to do this because anything purchased with your band, whether, food or merchandise, will be charged to your Disney Resort hotel room and then to the credit card you left on file.

Guests who are not staying on-site are not able to make charges to using their MagicBands, at least for now, because there’s really no place to send those charges.

Did you know that you can now place mobile orders at quick service restaurants using the My Disney Experience app on your smartphone? Just tap on your app and go to “My Plans” then “Order Food.” You will be able to browse quick service menus for participating restaurants at all four theme parks! You can even pay for your purchases with Disney Dining Credits linked to your account. How easy is that?

Alissa, I hope this information is helpful to you as you continue planning your magical visit. If you have any other questions, feel free to come back to see us anytime! Helping you with all the details of your visit is our pleasure!
