Hi ya, Laura!
It’s so great to hear from you! Now let’s gear up and prepare for your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World! The gear I’m referring to includes Mickey ears, a fun coordinating park bag, and of course the most important accessory, your MagicBand!
I’ve checked in with my fellow panelist,
Kaitlin, and most recently discovered that the older style MagicBand has slowly faded out and cannot be found. There is however a large selection of the MagicBand+ options to choose from. I’m not sure about you but sometimes I struggle with change, so switching MagicBand styles for me wasn’t easy. However, now that I have, I love how interactive the
newer styles are. The occasional vibration and light-up features entertain my Mouseketeers especially when it happens unexpectedly. (They haven’t figured out what makes their MagicBand+ come to life). So in a way, it’s just another part of the magic.
If you don’t want to make that change just yet, I suggest giving
Disney MagicMobile a go. It’s another way to access your park ticket without having to open your My Disney Experience mobile app every time. My husband has his MagicMobile account set up and I recently saw his digital theme park ticket in his Apple wallet just the other day. Long story short, he forgot his MagicBand+ in the room so he used the Disney MagicMobile Service one of our park days. It worked out nicely especially since his phone was out most of the day for photos anyway.
Speaking of which, if you don’t already have one I recommend purchasing a rechargeable battery pack for your mobile device. I purchased one in the parks and I absolutely love it! It’s so convenient and when it runs out of battery I just use the
kiosk in the theme parks or my resort to swap it for a new one. I highly recommend it, so add it to my list of gear-up items I’ve previously mentioned.
Laura, I can’t wait for you to experience the magic of Walt Disney World! How you choose to do so is entirely up to you, but either way, it’s going to be so much fun.
Go the Distance,
Shantel
