Hi there, Megan! I am so glad you found planDisney to ask your dining question!
Disney dining is one of my favorite things to talk about! I just arrived home from a 10-day trip back “home” and I was able to try many new restaurants while I was at Walt Disney World. I have also had a situation like yours, where we made a reservation and then not everyone was going to make it.
Walt Disney World is very flexible with this situation. As long as someone shows up for a reservation time, you will not be charged the cancellation fee of $10 per person. We had a situation this past weekend where we had 3 reservations that totaled 13 people, and then only were able to get 9 of those people to come to dinner. When we arrived, the cast member was able to join all three reservations and modify it to the actual amount of people.
On my recent trip, I also had very good luck with same-day dining reservations. Be sure to keep that in mind if you were unsuccessful in making all of your desired dining choices. One of my favorite meals of this last trip was at
Beaches & Cream Soda Shop at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. While our family has gone there for the kitchen sink in the past, this time we went for dinner and were pleasantly surprised at how delicious the “real” food there was. (Of course, we also had ice cream!)
I hope your upcoming trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth is a blast! The new nighttime shows
Disney Enchantment at Magic Kingdom and
Harmonious at EPCOT are both worth catching.
Happy Traveling,
Tracy
