Aloha, Sarah, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! ʻOhana means family, so it seems only fitting that you'll be dining there in a few short weeks with your sister!
I get so excited when my 180-day mark approaches, and I set my alarm extra early to
make my dining reservations. There's no better feeling knowing that you secured a spot at one of Walt Disney World Resort's most coveted restaurants! In my experience, the Cast Members at the check-in podium usually just ask for your last name and the size of your dining party; however, to be safe, it would be a good idea to have the reservation moved under your name. The number for Disney Dining is (407) 939-DINE (3463), and their hours of operation are 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. The phone lines tend to get busy, so I suggest calling as early in the morning as possible.
The other thing I suggest is to bring your appetite and your stretchy pants! Dinner at
'Ohana is served family-style in big skillets. The servers here will introduce themselves as cousins, so there's no need to be shy if you want to ask for more! Although 'Ohana is best known for their skewered meats, I actually prefer the first two courses which include a Mixed Greens Salad with a Lilikoi dressing, Pork Dumplings tossed in a Garlic-Ginger Sauce, and the Honey-Coriander Chicken Wings. No visit is complete, however, without the legendary 'Ohana Bread Pudding à la mode. I have a video on my phone that I love to watch of our "cousin" pouring that warm caramel sauce over the top (this is what dreams are made of)!
I hope you have a magical time, Sarah! See ya' real soon!
