I made our reservation for Le Cellier & they requested a cc guarantee. We have never been required to do a cc guarantee before. My 1st ? When did this change? 2nd ? If we don't arrive what is the fee or do we pay ahead for the meal?

    Lysandra,

Over the last few years Disney has expanded the use of having reservations secured with a credit card to many more locations. By my count there are now over 20 restaurants that require it, and this policy applies at signature dining locations as well as some of the more popular dining reservations, like Chef Mickey's.

So what if you need to cancel? Well the official rule is that you need to cancel at least 48 hours prior to your reservation. If you don't show up, you get charged $10 per person on your reservation.

I know on the surface this seems like a bit of a pain. However it seems to be solving a long-time problem that used to exist with Disney dining. People would make separate dinner reservations at a restaurant in each of the parks, and even a resort restaurant, for the same evening. Then they would just go to whatever they felt like that night. Understandable, but they were taking away the ability for as many as 4 or 5 other families from being able to secure a restaurant reservation for their trip.

I hope that this has helped?

Have a magical (and delicious) vacation!
