Carly,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
Getting home after a yummy meal can be easy if you know the way. To paraphrase Lin-Manuel Miranda and Opetaia Foa'i in their song from
Moana;
I know the way!
Option 1: If the Magic Kingdom park is still open when you have finished your dinner at
Kona Cafe, or has closed within the last half hour, you can simply
monorail around to the park, and walk over to the bus depot. From there you can catch a bus back to your Disney resort.
Option 2: You can take a bus from
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort to
Disney Springs, and then transfer to a bus to your Disney resort. The buses between the Disney resorts and Disney Springs typically will run until around 2 am.
BOTTOM LINE: Option 2 is the most consistently reliable of the two options, but if the first option is viable, it is a faster, and more enjoyable alternative.
BONUS TIPEveryone loves a Dole Whip! If you need a special dessert after dinner, you will be thrilled to find out that they have added the
Pineapple Lanai to the Ceremonial House at the Polynesian. It is a walk-up counter that serves delicious pineapple treats, as well as a few variations, including some adult beverage versions that might be a nice ending to a long day at the parks!
