Welcome to planDisney, Emily! I am so glad you stopped by with this question.
First, please pass along my thanks to your father-in-law for his service. I am grateful for our many freedoms. I was at Walt Disney World Resort last month with friends who are a military family. We always enjoy the
Flag Retreat ceremony, but it feels even more magical when we are with our friends.
I am thrilled to share that you should be able to add a
Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan to your resort stay with
Disney Military Salute tickets. I confirmed with a Cast Member you can add this just as I do with my Annual Pass: by calling
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations. Since it is not part of a vacation package, you can't do this online, but a Cast Member should be able to help.
Since it won't be long before you are walking down the middle of Main Street, U.S.A., you will want to call soon. Dining plans have to be added to your reservation before your resort check-in date.
Once you are all set, the
My Disney Experience app will be your friend at the theme parks. The app will help you keep track of your meal and snack credits. I am a huge fan of mobile food ordering, and the app will tell you what is included in the dining plans. My absolute favorites are the snacks. If you are a fan of caramel, your snack credits go far at the
Karamell-Küche. You can also get a Cold Brew Black Caf at
Kat Saka's Kettle. There are so many tempting treats. As Ursula says, "Life's full of tough choices, isn't it?" For
quick-service dining options, I love the
Columbia Harbour House and
Satu'li Canteen. Both feel like what you would expect at a table-service restaurant, with proteins, grains and vegetables. Although I love a good hamburger and fries, I also appreciate other options. And the menus here are amazing!
Emily, I hope you can call and update your plans so you can sing "Hakuna Matata!" and enjoy your vacation without a care.
If you have any other questions, please know you have a friend in
