Well hello, Leanne!
Thanks so much for stopping by to talk to us. My family has a history of making last-minute changes to our travel plans, so I have cancelled and modified our vacations more times than I can count. I would be more than happy to use my personal experience to help you out with this question.
Leanne, If you have made two Walt Disney World Resort vacation bookings, including accommodations in the
Disney Resorts Collection and
theme park tickets, then you will need to cancel the reservation that you do not plan on using more than 30-days before your check-in date. Just make sure you do not miss that date, or you will forfeit your deposit.
Now here is where things get a little tricky.
Disney Park Pass system reservations and dining reservations are actually separate from your vacation package. So after you cancel your vacation package you will need to go in and cancel all of your Disney Park Pass system reservations.
If you are planning on noshing at all the spots that you have reserved, just keep your
dining reservations as they are. Even though you reserved for 4 people, there will be no trouble modifying your reservation down to 2 people once you arrive at the restaurant. Your
My Disney Experience Mobile App will alert you that it is time to check-in for your reservation via your app. At this point you can select the actual number of people in your party.
If you are planning on making new dining reservations for 2, then you will still need to go and manually cancel the dining reservations that you previously made for 4. You do not want to miss a reservation and risk being charged a cancellation fee!
I hope that this answered your question. Remember, we here at planDisney are here to help make your trip practically perfect in every way.
Cheerio!
