I made character dining reseveation 4 weeks ago, and now we are thinking about changing the day we go to the park and now all character dining is booked. What is your recommedation to get a cancelation for character dining in the next week?

Hi, Jenny!  A meal with the characters is a highly sought after commodity at Walt Disney World, and last minute availability is usually very limited.  I know this sounds inconvenient, but I always recommend that you call every day to check.  People call in all the time to cancel their reservations, and you might luck into one if you are willing to be persistent.

You could try some of the meals that are outside of the theme parks - like the Cape May Character Buffet at the Beach Club resort, where you can have breakfast with some of the characters.  Another option might be the Garden Grill at EPCOT, where availability is usually a bit easier to come by.

There are also some limited walk up opportunities possible, but again, it's really the luck of timing.  You might walk up and find that someone has not shown up for their reservation and a table becomes available.  They can usually give you some idea at the podium if there is a chance they will be able to seat you within a reasonable time.

If you have park hoppers, you could always hop from the park you intend to go to out to your character meal at another location, then hop back.  It might be a last resort option, but if all else fails, it will allow you to dine with the characters.

I wish I had a bit of Fairy Godmother magic to spread, but keep trying!  Our motto around here is faith, trust, and pixie dust!  Fingers crossed that it all works out for you!
