Luv this site! I am really stressing! First trip ever (DH, DS 13,DS 8)Nov 28-Dec 6.No calendar up yet? Also didn't realize it's Thanksgiving on the 27th (I'm Canadian) Will it be crazy busy and is there a way to plan without relying on WDW calendar? Help!

    Shane,

I am planning our next family trip on almost the exact same dates.  I picked the dates because it will likely NOT be very busy for most of the dates.  Admittedly the 28th through the 29th will be busy, but things should be a little lighter on Sunday, and be considerably lighter on Monday and the rest of that week.  That's my expectation based on experience and research -- let's hope I'm right! ;-)

If you plan to go to the parks on the 28th, I'd pick the Magic Kingdom, since it is usually relatively light (still might be busy) on the day after a National holiday (many will visit the Magic Kingdom on Thanksgiving day).

To figure out your other dates, it will obviously be easier once Disney releases the park hours (I sure hope it's soon!!), but in the meantime two resources I often use to plan the best days per park are:

    1)  www.touringplans.com
They already have rough guesses for your dates - but will probably update them once Disney releases the calendar

    2) www.tourguidemike.com
Unfortunately MiKE doesn't post recommendations until several days after Disney releases their calendar. In the meantime, you can use his recommendations from 2007 as a starting point (start with the Friday after Thanksgiving 2007 as the recommendation for the first day of your trip this year).  You can also get lots of good advice on his forums about how to plan trips before Disney releases their calendar.

OK, enough about your trip.  Your post reminded me that I need to go finalize our Nov/Dec plans... ;-)
