Nadia,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
The very first table service meal that my daughters ever attended at Walt Disney World, all those years ago, was
Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show. While the luau is just one of hundreds of great places to launch anyone's Disney vacation dreams, this one was ours, and it still holds special memories for us to this day. Sadly, the luau is no more, as
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort grows to add more homes in the tropical fun.
While we do miss the fun blend of entertainment and dining at the luau, we have found so many other great options, many of which have become new traditions for my now-teenage daughters. Here are a few recommendations.
We rarely visit Walt Disney World without a trip to the
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at Fort Wilderness. While it is a long-time favorite for many at Walt Disney World, it is something that can be enjoyed year after year. The stage show interacts with the crowd, and the American classics are delicious.
Whispering Canyon Cafe located in
Disney's Wilderness Lodge is filled with campy fun and delicious skillets.
'Ohana, which is located in the Great Ceremonial House of Disney's Polynesian Village Resort may not rise to the entertainment value of some of these others, but the island theme and the great views of the Seven Seas Lagoon make it another great option to consider.
Not all the fun dining experiences are at the resorts!
50's Prime Time Cafe in Disney's Hollywood Studios places you at your aunt's kitchen table, and beware anyone who leaves their elbows on the table!
So, while you may not get to go to an island luau, there are plenty of other great options. If you
write me back directly with some more information about what you are looking for, I would be glad to offer other dining suggestions.
Have a Magical Vacation!Doug
