Hey there, hi there, Jodi! Welcome to
planDisney, and thank you for your question.
Taking place at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, the Spirit of Aloha dinner show certainly has its fans. The show itself saw some changes over the course of a 50-year run, but with new changes taking place at the resort, the luau is no longer running.
The good news, Jodi, is that you can still get a very Polynesian dining experience at other restaurants located in this resort. An all-time fan favorite is
'Ohana. I learned from Lilo and Stitch that 'Ohana means family, but it also means a delicious
taste of the South Pacific. You'll find menu items like the famous 'Ohana noodles, honey coriander chicken wings (I am pretty sure my daughter ate her weight in these last week!), and grilled teriyaki steak. This is an all you care to eat dining experience - including the pineapple coconut bread pudding at the end of the meal.
Another option is
Kona Cafe, where you can sample Polynesian favorites like the Kona braised short rib and fresh poke bowls. You can definitely see the Asian influence on Polynesian cuisine at this restaurant, and I am here for it.
If you're looking for a dinner show, the
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue reopens this summer! With some Wild West style dancing and singing, and a menu of down-home favorites like fried chicken and ribs, it's a must-do for my family. We can't wait for it to come back!
I hope you enjoy your visit, Jodi!
