Hi there, Denise! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
It looks like you've been doing your own research on the
Disney Parks' new stroller policy. Effective May 1, stroller wagons will no longer be permitted on Walt Disney World Resort Property. I like how your mind thinks, Denise, and that you are already strategizing solutions! I have
rented strollers many times from the Parks, and my Mousketeers were perfectly happy in them. Since the Walt Disney World double strollers have a weight limit of 100 lbs, this could be a possibility for your five-year-old. In my experience, they have not come with a fitted rain cover, though.
My Disney Parks Moms Panel friend, Tony, had another suggestion, which is to consider using a stroller rental company. It looks like the Summit X3 Single Stroller from Magic Strollers fits kiddos up to 75 lbs. This might be a more comfortable option, and they will happily deliver to your
Walt Disney World Resort hotel. They also have complimentary rain covers, so no worries about puddling ponchos for you! Visit magicstrollers.com or call (866) 866-6177.
Since you'll be visiting this summer, check out the
Disney Parks Blog for some exciting happenings, including the wildly anticipated opening of
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
If you have any more questions about your upcoming trip, Denise, let us know! We love to help make magical memories!
