Love traveling to WDW in January bc of crowds & price, thought about combining a DC to the Bahamas w/ a land vaca next year, but worried it would be too chilly to really enjoy the cruise. What would we miss out on if we went in Jan vs. a warmer month?

Welcome aboard, Mindy! You asked if you'd miss out during a cruise due to weather in January. Actually, I believe it's just the opposite! We love sailing in January and February.

There are some great advantages to sailing during the winter. Prices are usually lower for Disney Cruise Line's winter sailings, compared to the height of the summer. Weather in the Bahamas and Caribbean is great! Expect the weather to be in the 70's to 80's. I see you live in Illinois. I'm not far, in Ohio, so when I leave the snow behind and board one of Disney's cruise ships, 70 and 80 degrees is absolutely heavenly!

The summer highs can be sometimes uncomfortably warm in the Bahamas, so you certainly won't find that during January or February.

I just got back from the Disney Magic's 6-night sailing to the Western Caribbean the last week of January and the weather was wonderful! Our last sea day was the chilliest, in the upper 60's. But every other day was 70's and 80's and beautiful! Sea days are always cooler and breezier no matter when you sail.

I hope that helps ease your fear of "missing out" on something. A Disney Land and Sea vacation early next year would be a great experience for your family! Let me know if I can help out as you continue to plan, Mindy!
