We love to stay at a monorail hotel for the convenience but our friends rave about the Yacht Club. We've been spoiled b/c we always stay at GF...we want to try something different but comparable in services/amenities. Will we be disappointed w/ the YC?

    Walter,

It is hard for me to imagine anyone being disappointed by the Yacht Club.  It is a lovely resort, and although not on the monorail, I still consider it to be very conveniently located.  We typically stay in the attached Beach Club (or more specifically the Beach Club Villas, since we are DVC owners) and we feel it is the most convenient resort on property.

The Yacht Club is a 5 minute walk from the 'back' entrance to Epcot, leading directly into World Showcase.  It is also a longer walk or a boat ride away from Hollywood Studios, and situated across from the Boardwalk area with all the great dining and entertainment options it has to offer,

If you stay here you'll find an amazing 3-acre miniature water park of a pool area in Stormalong Bay, along with lots of other great recreation options.  And some really great dining too!  The Cape May Cafe has a fun character breakfast and an absolutely scrumptious clambake for dinner.  Beaches and Cream (near the pool) is a very popular snack and sandwich spot, with a legendary 'Kitchen Sink' dessert.  Plan on sharing!  And the Yachtsman Steakhouse is an amazing restaurant that consistently earns rave reviews.

Sure, you'll be giving up the monorail.  But once you stay at the Yacht Club and see what al it has to offer, you may find that it's not much of a sacrifice after all.  :)
