Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Elizabeth!
I love how certain Walt Disney World smells evoke emotional reactions and memories for me. After a trip "home" to
Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary resort several years ago, I became obsessed with the Green Aloe and Clover smell in the lobby, to the point where now my kids joke about it! During my stay, I inquired at the front desk, I was handed a little card with the ordering information on it. The company Disney uses in their resorts is called Scent Air, and their website for home consumers is scentairhome.com. The smell that
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort uses in their lobby is called Hibiscus Passion; however, this particular scent is only available for businesses and hotels. For home consumers, the closest one is called Paradise Breeze. You'll need to order both a Fragrance Machine and the scent cartridges. If you go this route, I'd highly recommend getting the Green Clover and Aloe cartridge, too!
Another alternative is the Magic Candle Company. While not quite as authentic as Scent Air, their scents are pretty close. My husband gave me some of their Enchanted Fragrance Oils and a diffuser for Mother's Day this year, and I love using them while doing my work-related Disney research! They actually have a "Polynesian" scent, as well as "Contemporary," and "Wilderness Lodge." Although it's a little pungent for some, I even like "Rome Burning," which reminds me of one of my favorite attractions,
Spaceship Earth. My kids are partial to the "Bakery" and "Pineapple Whip" smells. It's fun fighting over who gets to pick the Disney scent of the day!
I hope this helps bring back some of the magical memories from your trip, Elizabeth!
