Would love to plan a vacation for October with my husband and 4 year old but terrified that traveling with my 25 month old son will be extremely hard. He is so active now and hates to sit still, how hard will that be to spend days at the parks with him?

Hi, Valerie!  I like to tell moms that you have to take my advice with a grain of salt, because every child is different, but Walt Disney World was the BEST place to bring my super active kids!!

It was always my experience that even the fidgety kid was perfectly content to sit still as we rode an attraction.  It's not exactly like sitting still at home or at Grandma's or in the car - there's always something going on around you to see and do.  Remember that scene from the movie where the kid spins her head all the way around?  I'm pretty sure I've seen my kids do that at Walt Disney World, making sure they see everything.

The only thing I might warn you about is that my kids didn't always do great at the shows.  The squirmiest of the bunch was fine at things where she could dance and move around, but not so much into the things where she had to sit and watch a screen.  We always tried, but my husband and I took turns heading out of attractions if things didn't go well.

I also found out with my girls that being outside in the fresh air for longer days than we were at home helped tire them out.  They weren't nearly as antsy at Disney World as they were at home!

    Have a great vacation, Valerie!
