I love to take pictures! I was just wondering what Disney's policy is about camera lenses. Do they allow telephoto lenses at their parks? And do you have a suggestion on a good place to "character watch"?

I have never seen any specific prohibition on any type of camera equipment at WDW. I personally take a Canon Digital SLR with a 300 mm lens with me on almost every trip and have never even been asked about it by any Disney cast member. I have a good friend who brought several much larger telephoto lenses on a recent vacation and was also able to shoot freely.

As far as character watching goes, there are good character viewing spots all over WDW. If you check out the free Times Guides as you enter each park, these will list regularly scheduled meet and greet areas. However, there are plenty of unscheduled character appearances in the parks as well. For example, the entrance area to the Animal Kingdom often has half a dozen characters standing in impromptu greeting lines. Similarly the entrance end of Main Street in the Magic Kingdom often has up to a dozen characters greeting guests.

I hope you get some great shots.
