Hi! Love the panel! Just wondered what is the dining tax rate in Walt Disney World? Thanks!

    Mary,

Thanks for the fun question.  I had a few dining receipts from recent WDW trips, so I calculated the tax rate from the restaurants.  Most of them turned out to be 6.5%, but I couldn't figure out why my receipts from the All Star resorts were showing 7%.

After a little research, I found out an interesting little fact about WDW...it actually covers two counties. Most of WDW is in Orange County, where the tax rate is 6.5%.  However the All Star resorts are in Osceola County, which has a 7% tax rate.

So, in general, the WDW sales tax rate (including restaurants) is 6.5%, but if you happen to be at the All Star resorts, you'll get the "pleasure" of contributing just a tiny bit more to Osceola County! ;-)

Thanks for helping me learn another obscure fact about WDW!   ºoº
