Hello - love this panel! Planning our next WDW trip for fall 2014, want to experience MNSSHP while we are there. Trying to decide b/w the week of 9/16 and 10/14. Can you offer any tips based on crowds, weather, etc. during those dates? Thanks so much!!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Alyssa! Thank you so much for the kind words! It truly is a pleasure to assist guests with all of their Walt Disney World vacation planning questions! Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is my favorite special event and a "must do" for my family when visiting during September and October! The independent website allears.net features a Historic Attendance Levels Chart which categorizes the week following Labor Day until the week prior to Thanksgiving as lowest attendance, except for Columbus Day Weekend which is categorized as moderate attendance. In 2014, Columbus Day will be on Monday, October 13th. I believe you will find most of the crowds to be on the weekend prior to Columbus Day as many schools have a three or four day break over the holiday weekend. I have personally visited over Columbus Day weekend the last three years and have found the parks to very manageable and not what I would consider crowded. We have also thoroughly enjoyed the weather in October as well. The average high temperature in September for Orlando is traditionally in the upper 80s with an average low temperature in the low 70s; whereas, the average high temperature in October is traditionally in the low to mid 80s with an average low temperature in the mid 60s. The humidity levels are also traditionally higher in September. Based on my own personal experience with traveling in September and October, I would recommend visiting in October due to the cooler weather and lower humidity levels. I hope this information helps! Please don't hesitate to write me back with any additional questions. Best wishes for a magical trip, Alyssa!
    Happy Planning,
