Hi, Carolyn!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It's so wonderful to hear that the Panel was helpful in planning your visit in 2009! Walt Disney World Resort has seen some exciting changes and additions (such as New Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom Park) during the past 5 years, and the Panel will be here again for you at each step of planning your February 2015 vacation, should you need our help!
Tusker House Restaurant is one of my family's must-do dining reservations on every trip. We love the incredible variety of Indo-African inspired dishes offered on the buffet and the immersive theming throughout the restaurant. During our visit last month (November 2013), my 7-year-old daughter decided to go around the entire restaurant (first
and second floors) to take photos of all the interesting artifacts and colorful decor. The Cast Member servers were very accommodating as she even ventured down the narrow corridor leading to the kitchen to snap a photo of a beautiful gilt door panel!
We have enjoyed both lunch and dinner at Tusker House -- which are, by the way, very different experiences since Character Dining is offered at lunch as well as breakfast. During non-peak season times (such as the first week of February prior to the long Presidents' Day weekend), the pricing for Donald's Dining Safari Character Lunch typically is about $35 for adults and $17 for children (ages 3-9). This pricing does not include tax or gratuity.
As you may already know, Tusker House is located in Harambe Village in the Africa section of Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park and park admission is required.
Be sure to come visit us again here at the Moms Panel as you continue planning your vacation!
Wishing you a Magical New Year!
