Love the panel. I've found out so many things I didnt know last trip. I've read about a "Culinary Tour" that people have taken prior to eating at Boma's. Can anyone explain this to me? Do you have to sign up in advance for this... is it an ext

    Hi Lindsey!

The Culinary Tour is a great way to visit both Boma- Flavors of Africa and Jiko: The Cooking Place.

The tour is offered free of charge many afternoons at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Pre-registration is not required. Guests gather outside Boma and are met by a culinary expert from one of the restaurants.

During the tour, you'll usually enter Boma first and be given a tour around the restaurant before it opens for dinner service. You'll be shown the different serving stations and given explanations as to the types of spices, cooking methods and foods of Africa. Often times you'll be allowed to sample an item or two from the menu.

Next up is Jiko: The Cooking Place. This tour will introduce you to the decor of the restaurant, the ovens in the open kitchen area, and may even include a treat or two from the kitchen.

To find out the days and times of the tour, the best bet is to ask for a calendar of events at the Animal Kingdom Lodge's concierge desk. Times do occasionally vary and the tour may not be offered all days.

Hope this helps! Have fun on your tour!
