Hi Moms ! Love this panel ! My family and I will be at DW this Nov.for 16 days!!! Our 4 yr old will love the HM but I feel that the room at the beginning will be too much. Is it possible to skip this part if your child is slightly claustrophobic ? Thanks!

    Hi Joanne,

Haunted Mansion is one of my favorite Disney attractions. The attention to detail and the theming is amazing, and since the recent refurbishment, it is even better. The stretching room at the beginning can be a little tight at times, depending on how many guests they have "loaded" into the room.

There is a separate entrance that our family has used a few times when we were traveling with my grandmother, who was in a wheelchair. Most of the time that entrance still takes guests through the stretching room, but we have once went directly to the attraction.

Typically this is used for those needing assistance but there may be some exceptions. The best thing to do is speak to the Cast Member at the entrance to the attraction regarding your options. Explain your child's claustrophobia and ask if you can directly enter the ride portion.

If that is not available, the other option is to speak to the Cast Member at the front doors of the Mansion. Ask if you would be able to wait in the first "lobby room" until the room portion is finished and the doors have opened to the doombuggies. Perhaps you could walk directly through the room.

The Cast Members are very helpful, and will attempt to find the best solution for your child, within the safety guidelines that they use. Happy haunting!
