Love the panel. Going to DW in March staying at Caribbean. Just saw the staff cut news. Will this affect our stay? Also, saw several poor reviews on Caribbean saying it has poor housekeeping, longest bus trip, etc. Did we book a Disney nightmare?

    Rachael,

    A Disney nightmare? Hardly!

Let's dispense with the hotel stuff first. I visited the Caribbean in December, and it has had a great renovation of some rooms (to a Pirate theme) and to the public areas. The new main pool is a blast!

Does it have long bus times? Sure. All the resort bus travel takes a good half hour to get to a park, and yes, you usually wait a good 20 minutes to get a bus. But that is pretty standard. Disney transportation monitors travel times and regularly adjusts the supply of buses for any route.

Now to the staff cuts. It is hard to say what impact, if any, these will have. We on the panel are not privy to who is getting let go, what department they are in, etc. Local news stories indicate that many of the cuts are not to 'front line' staff, so my guess is that you will not notice anything.

Lastly, if you are still having 'buyers remorse', consider changing to another Moderate resort. I recommend Port Orleans. I don't think you need to, but if it gives you peace of mind, consider it!

    Have a magical vacation!
