Welcome aboard, Magda! I love to hear from guests who live in Scotland. My husband's family all lives in Scotland, so it's like talking with family!
I completely understand your worry about the safety of your daughter if you book a
stateroom with a verandah on the Disney Magic. I remember sailing with Disney Cruise Line the first time. We had a Deluxe Family Stateroom on the Disney Dream. My kids were young and I was nervous about them wandering out onto the verandah alone. From the moment I stepped into the stateroom, my fears were put to rest. The staterooms all have a lock on the door to the verandah on the handle. In fact, sometimes I even struggle to unlatch the handle to open the door, which makes me feel better about my kids not being able to easily open that door. But, even if your daughter is a little engineer who can easily figure things out, like my son, don't worry. Besides the door handle lock, there is a lock up at the very top of the door that you can use to secure the door as well. Little ones absolutely cannot reach this lock, so this is extra security.
As always, be sure to monitor your daughter any time the door is open and anytime she is on the verandah. But, know that Disney Cruise Line is serious about the safety of all guests, and they do everything they can to ensure that Mom and Dad can relax knowing that they are safe with their family on Disney's Pixie-Dusted ships.
If you haven't already, check out these
Disney Magic in the Mediterranean videos about what you can experience both onboard the ship and in the ports of call in Europe.
Have fun as you continue preparing to book your first cruise with Disney! Let me know if you have other questions before you set sail! I'm happy to help!
