I love, love, love the Boardwalk area. Can you recommend a good place (or several places!) for a great cocktail?

    Hi there, Jeff,

Thank you for bringing your question to me here at planDisney!

Isn’t Disney’s BoardWalk fabulous? With all the entertainment, recreation, shopping, and dining options, not to mention the amazing Disney Resorts Collection Hotels there, it is a destination of its own that makes me feel like I’ve been transported to the shore. And good news! There are several places I can recommend for a great cocktail while you are strolling the boardwalk.

Let’s start with one of my favorites, AbracadaBar, which is located by Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, and has one of the most extensive specialty cocktail menus in all of Walt Disney World Resort. Look around and take in all the theming that harkens back to the golden age of magic and you will see that at every turn, things get curiouser and curiouser. I love The Conjurita, which in addition to being a delicious tequila-based cocktail, actually changes colors as it is shaken at your table. It is, well, magical! You will want to try more than one cocktail on the menu, so I also suggest ordering the Abra Fries, which feature parmesan cheese, gremolata and truffle cheese sauce for dipping.

Now, let’s head over to Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and stop in the Ale & Compass Lounge. Jeff, the décor here will make you feel like you have entered the most exclusive yacht on the seas! It is one of my favorite places to relax after a day in the parks. The cocktail menu features some new twists on classic favorites and some original cocktails only found here. I’m a big fan of the Maple Old Fashioned. It is the perfect cocktail for such elegant surroundings. You will also find some fabulous non-alcoholic cocktails. The Pink London Spritzer is one of my favorites. Appetizers are available from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and I highly recommend the Blue Crab Bisque with Espelette Oil, and an order of the Parker House Rolls and Spreads. You won’t even need dinner, but if you do, you don’t have to go far! Just head next door to Ale & Compass Restaurant for more fabulous ambiance and delicious food.

Jeff, I could talk about Disney’s BoardWalk, Disney cocktails and Disney dining until the tide goes out again so please stop back by any time with your Walt Disney World Resort questions!

    Wishing you many magical memories,
    Shannon
