Love you guys! Want to watch Wishes May 14th. Is it easier to get to the beach at Polynesian or docks at Grand FL. from the Monorail with two tired kids. Want to hear piped music. Then back to Wilderness Lodge to bed after. Thankyou,

    Hi Karyn -

The beach at the Polynesian and the docks at the Grand Floridian are both great places to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks; however, given your situation, I'm going to give you two other options. I'll explain why.

From either the Poly or the GF, you're going to have to go back to the Magic Kingdom to get to the Wilderness Lodge. There is not direct-to-WL transportation from either the GF or the Poly. The transportation options at the Magic Kingdom itself are always swamped right after Wishes - with thousands of other guests who want to get their tired kids into bed. You'll likely have to wait at the MK for the boat to go back to the WL.

However, there are also good Wishes viewing spots on the 4th floor balcony of the Contemporary (near the Bay Lake Tower walkway) and on the beach at Fort Wilderness. In both these places, you'll be able to hear the Wishes music. Both the Contemporary and FW have direct boats to the Wilderness Lodge. Those boats will be MUCH less crowded than those at the Magic Kingdom, plus you only have that one travel step rather than the two steps you'd have if you were at the GF or Poly (monorail to the MK, then boat to the WL).

If I were you spending the day at the MK, I'd take the monorail over to the Contemporary before the fireworks, then watch Wishes from the balcony there. When you're done, hop on the boat to the WL. Easy-peasy.

Enjoy your visit to Walt Disney World.
