    Hi, love this forum. I understand your hotel gives you cards to charge things to your room during your stay. Do I need a large credit card balance for this, can I pay the bill with Cash? Also, is there a way to check my balance and purchases each day?

    Hi Donna!

    Yes, when you check in to your Disney resort you'll be given the option to link your room key to a credit card. If you choose to do this, you'll then be able to use your key to charge merchandise, snacks and meals throughout Walt Disney World. You are under no obligation to use the room charging privileges.

    During your stay, your charging limits will be determined by your resort type: Values are currently $500, Moderates are $1000 and Deluxe resorts are $1500. Once you reach this limit, your card will be charged and your charging privileges reset. If you do not reach the limit, your card will be charged on the morning of checkout.

    Now, on to more of your questions! You can absolutely check your charging balances daily by stopping the the lobby concierge and asking for the current total. At that time you are welcome to pay towards your balance (or even slightly more, if you'd like to have a credit).

    If you'd prefer to settle the bill in cash before you checkout, I would recommend visiting the front desk the night before you check out and pay the balance. Occasionally, depending on the time you check out, you may miss the credit card being processed if you arrive at the front desk too late on the morning of departure.
