I would love to take a disney cruise with husband and daughters(12&9). Problem is my husband has vertigo. I am worried that he will have to take too much medication if he gets sea sick and will not enjoy the trip, any suggestions, is it worth it to

Welcome aboard, Lesley! It's nice to hear that you're considering a Disney cruise for your family!

First off, I'd recommend that your husband speak to his doctor before booking the cruise. The doctor can give some very specific recommendations based on your husband's particular type of vertigo.

While I do not tend to get sea sick, I do know many guests of Disney Cruise Line who do. I've learned that Bonine can work wonders, or sometimes only help a little. It really depends on the person. However, the biggest recommendation I hear is for guests who think they may get sea sickness is to begin taking Bonine a couple of days before they set sail as a preventative, instead of waiting to be on the ship, discover they are sea sick and then try to take it as a remedy. Again, his doctor can give him much better specifics and recommendations.

I will say that many guests can be seen wearing a patch and still having a great cruise. Sea Bands are popular as well as ginger pills or ginger candy which are more natural remedies for sea sickness.

Do book a central stateroom, about mid-ship on a mid-level deck. This will ensure less motion than other areas of the ship.

I hope that helps as you consider booking a magical Disney cruise. Hopefully your husband's doctor has some other great recommendations that will allow your husband to join you and your girls on an exciting adventure at sea!
