Hi moms! Love the blog! We are going on our 3rd cruise February 2016. Hubby and I are considering alone time on the island. Our girls are 3 & 5. Does scuttles cove have separate bathrooms? Or do counselors bring kids to the bathroom when they have to g

    Ahoy, Julie!

Congratulations on your third Disney Cruise! You will be Gold Castaway Club members in no time!

Having some "adult time" on Castaway Cay is an absolute must for us. Serenity Bay is always so beautiful and quiet, and the food at the Serenity Bay BBQ is our favorite on Disney's Private Island Paradise. My husband loves to check out all of the sea life at Serenity Bay as well.

Our children are older, so they don't go to Scuttles Cove, they prefer to spend time with their friends from Vibe and Edge. But, I asked a good friend about her children's experience in Scuttles Cove.

I was reassured that there are indeed bathrooms near Scuttles Cove. The counselors will take potty-trained kids to the bathrooms, but not enter the stalls with them, just like in the Oceaneer Lab and Oceaneer Club. So, be sure that your little sailors will be well-taken care of on Castaway Cay! Don't forget that the kids will be outside in the sun for quite awhile, so be sure to apply sunscreen before you drop off! The counselors will not reapply sunscreen, so plan to check in to help your kids stay sunburn-free.

I hope this helps with your cruise planning. Be sure to come back and visit us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with more questions that arise before you set sail.

    Happy Cruising, Tracy V.
