I want a lounge chair for the cruise. The last few times I cruised I never could get a lounge chair. When is a good time to be pool side to get a lounger?

Welcome aboard, Mary! I'm so sorry to hear that you were unable to get a lounge chair by the pool on one of Disney's cruise ships. Sometimes it is all about timing, as I've never had a problem getting a chair.

Disney Cruise Line does ask that guests not reserve chairs by leaving towels on them, but I know that in reality, it does still occur. Going in the morning has always been great for us, as we have always been able to find a lounge chair if that is what we've wanted. Of course, there are plenty of regular chairs available as well, but those loungers are certainly the first ones taken.

I'd suggest arriving early in the morning to spend some time at one of the pools, as it gets more crowded the closer it gets to lunchtime. If you see chairs that are left unattended for quite some time, only having a towel on them, don't hesitate to chat with a Cast Member about that, as they will most likely remove the towel for you so you can have the chair, since Disney is pretty clear about not holding chairs like that.

One other tip I have for you is that port days are great days to get some quieter time at the pools onboard. Since so many guests head off on Port Adventures, you'll find the pool deck to be much less crowded, so it's a great day to relax and catch some sun without the crowds!

I hope those suggestions help, Mary. Enjoy your upcoming Disney cruise!
