Hi, is there a lot of wildlife to see on an Alaskan cruise in August?

    Ahoy, Theresa!
It is wonderful to hear from you again! My family enjoyed an Alaskan sailing in early July last summer, and I remember wondering the same question before were arrived. We were able to see wildlife from the ship including humpback whales, orcas, bald eagles, seals and dolphins. We spend a lot of time on deck and were lucky we were in the right place at the right time! In August, you have a better chance of seeing the salmon runs, which could also include the black bears, grizzlies and/or brown bears. My advice is to research all the wonderful Alaskan Port Adventures offered through Disney Cruise Line. There are many options for seeing lots of wildlife including everything I mentioned above when you venture ashore. I think one of the most challenging aspects of planning an Alaskan voyage is choosing your excursions, so it's best to prioritize in each port to help you narrow down your decision. Some adventures are only two to three hours in length, so you may be able to experience two in one port.
Thank you again for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Theresa!
    Have a magical day!
