Hiya Chihiro, and welcome to planDisney! Thanks for sending in some planning questions. You'll be arriving at the Most Magical Place on Earth in just a few shorts days... woo hooo!
I can see you've got magical souvenir shopping at the top of your wish list for your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World. I agree with you completely. There's just something about buying that
special Disney World merchandise, both to share with friends once you return home, and also to have happy reminders of your vacation.
We don't want you stuck on Space Mountain... unable to stuff all of your shopping haul into your rocket. That would be a bibbidi bobbidi bummer! So let's talk about a strategy, so you can still hop on attractions and stroll through the parks without a bunch of shopping bags weighing you down.
The service to deliver your Disney gift shop purchases back to your Disney Resort is not currently offered. However, I've got a few suggestions for you that will hopefully help.
- My family often browses through the gift shops during the day, but saves making our purchases until the end of our day. If I don't want to fight the post-fireworks shopping crowds, I'll sometimes do this in the early evening, once most of our riding is done.
- You can rent a locker to safely store your purchases, then retrieve them at the end of your park day. Locker rentals are located towards the front of each park, have keyless entry, and can be used throughout your day for a small fee.
- You can have items shipped to your home, even to an international address in some cases. My fellow panelist Brent shares some excellent tips and ideas for shipping your new purchases to your international home.
Chihiro, I hope this gives you some options so you can do all your shopping and also enjoy every magical moment of being at Walt Disney World! Please
visit me again at planDisney if I can answer any additional questions.
Sending pixie-dust!
Tami
