I have a lot of Magic Bands and have heard that their is somewhere on property that takes them back for recycling - is that true?

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Darlene!

I’m sure Mickey Mouse would commend you for being a good steward of the environment in wanting to recycle your old MagicBands. Although previously-used MagicBands can be used on future Walt Disney World Resort vacations, I’ve been told that you can return them to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel concierge for recycling. Should you choose to recycle them, though, make sure you deactivate them first (using the “My Profile” section of your My Disney Experience account online or via the My Disney Experience mobile app).

Should you choose to hang onto your MagicBands, not only can you reuse them for future visits (and decline new ones with your Walt Disney World Resort hotel reservation using your My Disney Experience account/ mobile app), but you can also repurpose them! Just Google “MagicBand crafts” and you’ll see lots of fun options for creative uses like napkin rings, doll belts, stuffed animal collars, decorative wreaths or even cable ties. There are also some awesome MagicBand display cases available online, too.

Hopefully one or more of these options will work for your MagicBand collection, Darlene. Please let us know if there are any additional questions we can answer for you.

    Have a Magical day!
