Hi Kenneth!
We are so glad you have asked your question to us here at planDisney! Many of our family resort stays at the Most Magical Place on Earth have been in the moderate category. While we all differ on our favorites, we agree that the most spacious and rustic is
The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort! Staying at the cabins is like having your own little home out in the woods. It is a different feel and ambiance, all while a bus or boat ride away from the theme parks and Disney Springs.
After speaking with Cast Members, I’m happy to let you know that currently, there are no loops that are closed at Fort Wilderness. Guests are being booked into all sections of the resort at this time. Bear in mind that although you can request a certain loop when making your reservation, it is up to the discretion of the resort if they can grant your request. Currently, the restaurants at Fort Wilderness,
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, and
Trail’s End are temporarily unavailable. While there is to-go service available at
P & J's Southern Takeout, you may need to travel outside of the resort for a table service meal.
Kenneth, one great way to get around at Fort Wilderness is via a golf cart! It’s a fun way to explore the resort, and you’ll be able to access all areas without having to use the bus service. The rental fee is $62.91 per person for a four-person golf cart.
Golf cart rentals are available at the entrance to the resort, and reservations are strongly recommended. You can call and make a reservation at the number listed in the link above up to one year in advance of your stay.
Hope this helps you plan your magical vacation!
Malanie
