Ahoy there, James!
How exciting to have your
Disney Cruise Line vacation just days away!
You are going to love
Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. The sand is the prettiest shade of pink and the water is the most luxurious turquoise. On my last visit to Lookout Cay, I had a marvelous time exploring the underwater sea life. There were so many adorably friendly and colorful fish to see.
On
Disney Castaway Cay, the snorkeling area has a variety of human-made structures and barriers. At Lookout Cay, the snorkeling area shares the natural ocean swimming area. This area is marked by buoys and monitored by lifeguards. The most visually interesting snorkeling is around the reefs, which are identifiable by the dark areas in the water. Another difference between Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay is that Lookout Cay has an age requirement of 10 and up due to the open water environment. You can
rent snorkel gear, including the required safety snorkel vest, at Flippers and Fins. The Crew Member will give you gear instructions and explain other safety requirements before you take off into the big blue world.
When you aren't enjoying the fish in the sea, be sure to spend some time
exploring the colorful culture Bahamian culture at the Goombay Cultural Center. One of my favorite moments is RUSH! A Junkanoo Celebration. You will love it, too, I'm sure!
I hope this information is helpful, James. Enjoy your vacation!
Wishing you many magical memories,
Shannon
