We are looking at going to WDW in March 09. We are thinking about staying at AKR and getting a room overlooking the safari. 2 things of worry. 1. no animals to be seen and 2. possible smell issues. Am I stressing over nothing?

    Hi James,

I have stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge in July. I am huge animal fan and I never visit the zoo in July because of the "interesting" smells. I have to tell you I smelt nothing so I think you would be okay in March.

As for animals, you should be fine as well. The animals maybe be wild boars and other african animals which you may not be familiar with. However, this will also be a unique experience.

Every morning my daughters got up and ate on the balcony with the animals. The giraffes were their favorites.

The other great thing about are room is we had bunk beds so no sharing for the kids.

    Have a great vacation!
