Bonjour Jennifer, and thanks for visiting us at planDisney. I recently celebrated my sister’s milestone birthday at Disneyland Paris and would be honored to help with your celebratory trip!
First, let’s chat about tickets. Currently, Disneyland Paris offers theme park tickets at a
special rate for active and retired military personnel with an official military card (issued by the United States, the United Kingdom, or France). Eligible service members can purchase up to five special-rate military tickets online, but also need to be present with their military identification when the tickets are activated at the park. Unfortunately, Disneyland Paris doesn’t accept dependent identification for purchasing and activating special-rate military tickets.
However, there’s another way to get discounted tickets for your vacation! If you book a
Hotel + Ticket Package, theme park tickets are included at a significant discount. So, even if your husband decides to come on the trip, I’d recommend pricing out both options: the Hotel + Ticket Package versus the special-rate military tickets plus a room-only hotel reservation (
to book a hotel room separate from tickets, you’ll need to call Disneyland Paris since this can’t be reserved online). The Hotel + Ticket Package was such a great value for my sister's birthday trip that we ended up spending an extra day in the parks that we weren't originally planning on doing!
Before I go, I wanted to suggest a few special things to do for your birthday! First, be sure to get a complimentary birthday button from City Hall or your hotel’s front desk (if you’re staying at a Disney hotel). Then snag a few of the iconic Disneyland Paris champagne flutes for a toast in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle! Sometimes I’ve seen a kiosk selling them towards the end of Main Street, U.S.A., and other times I’ve spotted them for sale inside
Victoria’s Home-Style Restaurant or
The Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlour. They make a great photo opportunity and souvenir to bring home!
Other experiences we enjoyed for my sister’s birthday included a lunch at
Walt’s - an American restaurant, where we timed our reservation around
Disney Stars on Parade (we could see the floats from the windows next to our table!), and booking the
reserved viewing area for
Disney Tales of Magic in the evening. We had an incredible view of the fireworks, projections, and water fountains!
