    We're looking for suggestions on how to get from the Art of Animation resort to the Grand Floridian for an early breakfast . Is it best to take a carseat so we can use a cab?

    Stephanie,

    There are a few ways to go about this;

    Strategy 1: If the buses to the Magic Kingdom have started that morning, the easiest way to get to breakfast would be to take the bus to the park. Then hop on the monorail and take it to the Grand Floridian.

    Strategy 2: Make sure that you speak with your resort's transportation desk when you check in. Often they can recommend ways to get from your resort to your breakfast destination, even if it is before the standard bus hours start. Often Disney will provide transportation to a breakfast at one of their resorts, even if it scheduled for before standard bus operating times.

    Strategy 3: Assuming that you think you are going to take a cab sometime on your trip, then you could bring your boosters/car seats. While there are many town cars and even some cabs out there that have car seats, rarely are they the ones that are waiting at your resort. So to use theirs, you are looking at a VERY long wait for one of these. But remember that if you bring yours, then you have to carry your seats around, or find lockers big enough to take them.

    BOTTOM LINE: We no longer bring car seats or boosters, as we seem to not need them. But our kids are just booster-sized now, and we have always had Disney transportation to rely on. If I were in your shoes, I would not bring them. If, when using strategy 2, you discover that you are going to have to use non-Disney transportation to get to that breakfast, then ask them to reserve you a cab for that morning that can provide the necessary seats for kids.

    Have a magical vacation!
