Hey, Paula! I take each of my daughters on a yearly Mom-and-Me trip to Walt Disney World Resort and try to customize the trips as much as possible. It was such a bittersweet moment when I sat down to plan this last trip and my
#DisneyTween announced she was not going to Bibbibi Bobbidi Boutique this time because she "wasn't a little princess anymore." While I tried desperately to figure out how I could sprinkle pixie dust on her and make sure she didn't grow up for a little while longer, I found some great options for Tweens and Teens who may still want to experience their own kind of magical moment.
The
Harmony Barber Shop in Magic Kingdom Park offers fantastic options for young children and those who are still young at heart. This charming little space opens daily for haircuts and simple stylings. They do accept walk-ups, but reservations are recommended. The Cast Members will be happy to style their hair in a ponytail or other simple way and even top it off with colored hair gel and a massive dose of confetti. I have seen some pretty cool side ponytails with colorful Mickey-shapes drawn on to the other side.
If your daughters are looking for something a little more special, I recommend you call (407) WDW-SPAS for an appointment at one of the following hair salons on property:
Ivy Trellis Salon at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
Periwig Salon at Disney’s Beach Club Resort
Casa De Belleza Salon at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
At these locations, your daughters will be fully pampered and given an updo fit for royalty, complete with an extra sprinkling of pixie dust!
I hope you and your daughters have a magical day, Paula. Please let us know if you have any further questions!
