Hello, I am looking at resorts at Disney World and would like to split my trip between two resorts. Is that possible? What is the best way to do that when making a reservation?

Hi Sarah! Thanks for stopping by planDisney!

There's nothing I like better than a trip to Walt Disney World Resort that includes a stay in one of the many beautiful Disney Resorts Collection hotels, except maybe the chance to stay in two different Resorts during one vacation! Because each and every Resort has such a unique theme, different dining options, and proximity to different areas around the Resort, you can feel as though you've really been transported somewhere new just by packing your bags for a quick and easy move.

When booking what we like to call a "split-stay" at a Walt Disney World Resort, you'll want to make two completely separate reservations on the Walt Disney World website. After you've confirmed your first reservation at Resort stay #1, head back to create your second! Make sure that the check-out day of your first Resort and the check-in day of your second Resort are on the same date. You'll easily be able to link both of these reservations to your My Disney Experience account by their confirmation number if they don't magically pop up on their own!

I absolutely love having a split stay planned for my trips because it gives me and my family the opportunity to explore new and exciting Resorts we've never been to before. On one of our favorite trips, we started out at Disney's Art of Animation Resort and then moved over to Disney's Yacht Club Resort.  My children loved every.little.detail. about Art of Animation and the Big Blue Pool, but at the end of the stay I truly appreciated the serenity and perfect location of Disney's Yacht Club Resort.  It was definitely a win-win situation!

Do note that while the amazing Cast Members at Bell Services will be happy to transfer your luggage between your two Disney Resorts, this process can take a little time.  Make sure to pack necessities (especially if you have little ones!) in a bag that will stay with you during the transition.  We learned this the hard way when we left my daughter's beloved "blankie" in the suitcases to be transferred!

    Have a magical stay, Sarah!

Meet the Panelist: Ashley, Massachusetts

Hi All, I'm Ashley! From the very beginning Walt Disney World Resort has always been a part of my life. As a child I excitedly helped to plan family trips, as a young adult I planned our "happily ever after" right on Disney property, and now I'm lucky enough to plan magical vacations for my three incredible children. When we're not taking in the enchanting experiences of the parks, we're home in Massachusetts, probably planning our next trip! Learn More About Ashley
