Hi, we are looking at purchasing annual passes for a future trip, do you know how long you have to activate them at a park if you buy them via the wdw website? Thank you

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Georgina! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney...thanks for visiting!

I was gifted a Walt Disney World Annual Pass from my Prince Charming last yEAR, and I've been waiting for the right time to activate it! I just checked my account through the "Tickets and Passes" section of the My Disney Experience mobile app, and my unactivated pass shows an expiration date of December 2030.  I'm pretty sure I won't be able to wait that long! Unfortunately, the Cast Member I spoke to today wasn't able to confirm whether this date will be the same in the future. If you visit the Passholders page on the Walt Disney World website, there is a blue link you can click on to email the VI.PASSHOLDER Support team if you want more details. I also recommend checking out the Annual Passes: Know Before You Go page.

Keep in mind that while renewals are still currently available, new Annual Pass purchases are temporarily on pause, and at this time, we have no set date when sales will resume. You may, however, purchase your Theme Park Tickets now so you can secure your Disney Park Pass reservations (through September 26, 2021), and then once Annual Passes go back on sale, you can use the value of your Disney Theme Park Tickets to purchase an Annual Pass. Your Annual Pass will be good for one year after you have used it to enter one of the four Walt Disney World Theme Parks (just visit any of the parks' Guest Relations windows with a valid photo ID).

I hope this helps, Georgina! We hope to see ya again real soon!
